Tapsly was created as part of the I‘Robot module, where we looked at robotics and artificial intelligence. It is a product for psychomotor therapy that uses AI to support children at home between therapy sessions. Tapsly is a product family consisting of „Tap“ (big mat), „Top“ (tablet) and „Tip“ (smart pen). „Tap“ includes a woven-in flexible LED surface textile. Guided by large movements on „Tap“, to small finer movements with „Tip“, the child‘s gross and small motor skills are encouraged and challenged, as well as spatial and body awareness. A central question of this project was how to convey and address emotions without the use of facial expressions or a face.
